A Sunset on a Tuesday Evening by Fr. John Higgins

A Sunset on a Tuesday Evening
Sometimes when days are long
And the weariness of being human overtakes our senses
The sun goes down a little more slowly,
more softly
if we take the time to talk with Him.
And when our lives seem long
and the wanderings in and out of other’s lives leaves us saddened
the Son rises up to take our hand so softly,
so warmly
if we take the time to talk with Him.
So, it’s for you, Lord, we long
and the things we learn to live come together
Our lives end, only to begin so warmly,
so quickly
if we go through time to talk with Him. Fr. John Higgins Circa 1985
