How to Use Cheat Engine in Xcom 2: War of the Chosen
Xcom 2 is a challenging strategy game that requires careful planning and execution. However, some players may want to tweak some aspects of the game to make it easier or more fun. One way to do that is to use Cheat Engine, a software that allows you to modify various parameters of the game, such as your soldiers' stats, resources, abilities, and more.
In this article, we will show you how to install and use Cheat Engine in Xcom 2: War of the Chosen, the latest expansion for the game. We will also provide some examples of what you can change with Cheat Engine and how it can affect your gameplay.
Step 1: Set Up Cheat Engine
First, you need to download and install Cheat Engine from its official website. Then, you need to download the latest cheat table for War of the Chosen DLC from the official forums. A cheat table is a file that contains the values and scripts that you can edit with Cheat Engine. If you can't decide which file to download, then here's the latest version of the table.
Copy the ".CT" file of the table in the directory of Cheat Engine. This will make it easier to load the table later.
Step 2: Load the Game and Associated Table
Once you have Cheat Engine and the cheat table ready, you can start Xcom 2. Then, press Alt+Tab to switch back to Cheat Engine window and choose Xcom 2 on the process list. You can do this by clicking on the computer icon on the top left corner of Cheat Engine and selecting Xcom 2 from the list of processes.
At that point, Cheat Engine will ask you to load the associated table if it's in the same folder as Cheat Engine. If not, you can press Ctrl+O and browse to the location of the cheat table file. When the table is loaded, you will see a list of values and scripts in the description window below.
Step 3: Change the Parameters
Now comes the fun part. You can choose which parameters and values you want to change with Cheat Engine. For example, you can change your soldiers' stats like health, AP, mobility, aim, will, armor, dodge, hack, PSI, etc. You can also change your resources like supplies, intel, alloys, elerium crystals, etc. You can also enable some scripts that give you extra abilities like infinite actions, instant research/building/contacts/missions/covert actions/etc.
To change a value, simply double-click on it and type in a new value. To enable a script, simply check the box next to it. You can also hover over a value or a script to see a description of what it does. Some values and scripts may require you to be in a certain screen or situation in order to work properly. For example, if you want to change your soldier's stats, you need to be in the armory screen and select a soldier.
Finally, you can switch back to Xcom 2 and enjoy it with all the adjustments that you have just applied in Cheat Engine. You can also save your changes by pressing Ctrl+S in Cheat Engine. This will create a ".CETRAINER" file that you can load later by pressing Ctrl+O in Cheat Engine.
